Terms of Service

Welcome to Echo Journal ("the App"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legal agreement between you and the Echo Journal team ("we", "us", "our") regarding your use of the App. By using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service Overview

Echo Journal is a voice emotional journal application that provides:

• Voice recording and AI transcription
• AI emotional analysis and Socratic dialogue
• Emotional growth journey tracking
• Anonymous resonance community
• Custom voice cloning (Premium feature)

2. Account Registration

• You must be at least 13 years old to use this App.
• You must provide a valid email address or register via Google/Apple account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activities under your account.
• If you discover unauthorized use of your account, please contact us immediately.

3. Subscriptions & Payment

• Free tier: Up to 3 voice recordings per day with basic AI analysis.
• Premium subscription: Unlocks unlimited recordings and all advanced features. Available as monthly and annual plans.
• Subscription fees are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
• Subscriptions auto-renew within 24 hours before the end of each billing period unless auto-renewal is turned off beforehand.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your phone's App Store / Google Play settings.
• After cancellation, you retain Premium access until the end of the current billing period.
• Refund requests must be handled according to Apple / Google refund policies.

4. User Content

• You retain ownership of all content created through the App (voice recordings, text, community posts).
• You grant us a limited license solely to provide and improve the service (e.g., AI analysis, content display).
• Content you publish in the Resonance community is anonymized before being shown to other users.
• You must not publish content that is illegal, harassing, discriminatory, pornographic, violent, or infringing on others' rights.
• We reserve the right to remove violating content without prior notice.

6. Prohibited Conduct

When using this App, you must not:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the service.
• Use automated tools (bots, crawlers, etc.) to access the service.
• Attempt unauthorized access to other users' data or our systems.
• Use the App for any illegal activities.
• Impersonate others or misrepresent your relationship with any person or entity.
• Interfere with or disrupt the normal operation of the service.

7. Intellectual Property

• The App and all its content (code, design, branding, AI output formatting) are our intellectual property.
• You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes only.
• "Echo Journal" and related logos are our trademarks and may not be used without permission.

8. Service Changes & Interruptions

• We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time without prior notice.
• We are not liable for service interruptions due to maintenance, upgrades, or force majeure events.
• If we decide to permanently discontinue the service, we will provide 30 days' advance notice and an opportunity to export your data.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

• The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without any warranties, express or implied.
• We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
• To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
• Our total liability shall not exceed the total subscription fees you have paid in the preceding 12 months.

10. Account Termination

• You may delete your account at any time (Settings → Delete Account).
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.
• Upon account termination, your data will be handled according to our Privacy Policy.

11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

• These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China.
• Any disputes arising from these Terms shall first be resolved through friendly negotiation.
• If negotiation fails, either party may submit the dispute to a court of competent jurisdiction.

12. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. For significant changes, we will notify you through in-app notifications or email. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
